Before You Decide...

As with any unexpected or crisis situation, you may be facing difficult choices. Informed choice is always the best choice, but you need all of the information available in order to make an informed decision. We can help.

First, you need to know if you really are pregnant. We can provide you with a free pregnancy test, but a positive test is only part of the answer. You will need to have your test confirmed and an ultrasound can do that for you. We will provide you with a free limited obstetrical ultrasound performed by our trained Nurse Manager, to determine if the pregnancy is viable (is there a heart beat and is the fetus in the uterus?). This is extremely important information for you to have no matter what decision you are considering. Statistics show that *15% to 20% of pregnancies can end in miscarriage. If a miscarriage is likely, then you won't need to expose yourself to the expense and risks associated with abortion. Abortion is a medical procedure with possible risks physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

You don't have to face this alone. If you are thinking about abortion, we invite you to stop by Haven Pregnancy Services for more information on abortion procedures and risks, a pregnancy test and ultrasound - all free of charge. Please contact us before you make a final choice. We are here to help you sort through all of your questions and concerns. There is a lot to educate yourself on before you make a decision, and we are here to help you every step of the way.

Methods of Abortions

There are several different types of abortion - the abortion pill, manual vacuum aspiration, suction curettage, and dilation and evacuation. The type of abortion you may undergo can depend on what stage (how many weeks) of the pregnancy you are in. An ultrasound is an important tool that can tell you how many weeks pregnant you are.

Morning After Pill: Plan B One Step - taken up to 72 hours after sex and Ella - taken within 5 days after sex.

The Abortion Pill - taken up to 9 weeks from the last menstrual period (LMP)

Aspiration (suction) - performed up to 13 weeks LMP

Dilation & Evacuation - 13 weeks LMP and up

Abortion is not just a simple procedure; it may have many side effects. Please contact our center so that you can make an informed decision.
